You may pay any premium due in several different ways indicated below. To avoid an interruption of coverage, please be sure there is enough time to receive your payment in our office on or before the due date. Once a policy has been canceled for non-payment of premium, that policy cannot be reinstated.
To help you in paying your insurance premium, Midstate Mutual Insurance Company® has many options for premium payment:
# of payments | Amount billed | Months between payments |
1 | 100% Annual (no plan fee) | 12 |
3 | 40%-30%-30%** | 3-3-3 |
4 | 25%-25%-25%-25%** | 3-3-3-2 |
5 | 40% 1st, 4 at 15%** | 2 |
9 | 20% 1st, 8 at 10%** | 1 |
**Each payment is subject to a $7.00 Direct Bill fee or no fee for Automatic Credit Card / ACH.
Return a completed Payment Plan Application to change your plan and for complete instructions.
When there is a mortgage on the property insured, there may be an escrow account established by the mortgagee from which real estate taxes and insurance are paid. Midstate will forward a bill to the escrow account for payment, which is usually done on an annual basis, rather than by payment plan.
The failure of the escrow account to pay the annual premium on your policy in a timely fashion does not prevent a cancellation notice from being issued. If payment has not been received and a cancellation notice is issued, a copy of the cancellation notice is sent to both you and the escrow account allowing fifteen days to make payment.
You may check the payment status of your bill by contacting us during business hours.
If you are 65 years of age or older, you may designate another person to receive a copy of your bill including payment plan bills. This is often used when a policyholder has someone else handling his or her financial affairs. Each bill will be sent to the person designated, and a copy will be sent to the policyholder for information only. If the bill is not paid, the cancellation notice will be sent to both the policyholder and the bill-to designee.
Regardless of your age, if you believe you may have any difficulty with premium payment, please contact your agent.
